Humanity has invented a machine that will definitively determine whether intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe.

Judicial activism is a broader term used to define the process of judicial review i.e. a constitutional power vested with the superior courts to adjudicate on the constitutionality of a law, statute, administrative action, constitutional provision or an amendment. Judicial activism also maintains that the superior courts can and should go beyond the applicable law to consider the broader societal implications of their decisions. The Pakistan Supreme Court has used judicial activism for example, in suo motu actions in the rental power plant corruption case, the Hajj scam case and the Pakistan Steel Mills privatization case.

Students' unions are student run organizations whose purpose is to represent students both within the institution and externally, on local and national issues. Student unions are also responsible for providing a variety of services to students. Some student unions are politicized bodies, and often serve as a training ground for aspiring politicians. They are seen as crucial to promoting democratic culture and progressive values, while they are also criticized for breeding violence.

Student unions were banned in Pakistan by General Zia-ul-Haq's government in 1984.
